Don Mueang Now Has 31 Automatic Passport Gates — and They Actually Work

Don Mueang's 31 new automated passport gates are live 24/7. Here's who can use them and what to expect.

As of March 2026, Don Mueang Airport (DMK) runs 31 automated passport screening gates for international departures, operating 24/7. Full installation completed April 2026.

The gates scan your passport and face in under a minute. No queuing behind a manual counter, no waiting for an officer to stamp anything.

Who can use them: Passport valid for at least 6 months, not newly issued within 14 days, and you must be at least 120cm tall. Pregnant passengers use regular counters.

One thing worth knowing: your carry-on must also be under 120cm to pass through the gate structure.

BuLeJa Take

DMK finally feels like a functioning international airport. If you have been avoiding it for Suvarnabhumi out of habit, worth reconsidering especially for budget carrier departures.
